At least 15 people were killed when a tractor rammed into a Bolero car in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning, ANI reported. The tractor was on its way to Ambah town, when the accident took place at Ganj Rampur village.
Five people were injured in the accident.
The tractor was allegedly carrying illegally mined sand, the Hindustan Times reported. The driver was also wounded in the incident. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
“The toll may go up,” Morena Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghvi said, because the police were still retrieving bodies from the car. “We are trying to identify the owner of the tractor.”
The Bolero was a taxi travelling from Morena to Gwalior.
