This is the first attack since Governor’s rule was imposed in the state on Wednesday, a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party pulled out of the government and ended its alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party.

Chief of the Army Staff General Bipin Rawat had said on Wednesday that the imposition of Governor’s rule in the state would not affect the Army’s operations. “Our operations will go on like they used to,” the Army chief said. “We don’t face any political interference.”
