Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer smashed impressive half-centuries as India ‘A’ beat England Cricket Board XI by 125 runs on Sunday.
After being asked to bat first, India ‘A’ posted 328/5 in 50 overs. Shaw was the top-scorer for India ‘A’ with 70 runs off 60 balls. Skipper Iyer was also in fine form as he scored 54 runs off 45 balls. ’Keeper-batsman Ishan Kishan contributed with 50 off 46 balls.
Opening the innings, Shaw took charge even as partner Mayank Agarwal departed early for four. Shaw soon pieced together a fine partnership with Hanuma Vihari (38) before Iyer and Kishan took over.
In reply, ECB XI folded for 203 runs with Deepak Chahar picking up three wickets.
