In Kapil Verma’s short film Nitishastra, a young woman has to choose between familial loyalty and her principles. The 20-minute film makes several references to the Bhagwad Gita to explore ideas of justice and righteousness.
At her mother’s funeral, Roshni (Taapsee Pannu), who runs a self-defence institute for women, gets into a brutal fight with her younger brother Ravi (Vicky Arora), who has resurfaced after being on the run for five months. While the siblings are fighting each other with methodical efficiency, a series of flashbacks disclose the reason for their bitter fallout.
