A new demo video from virtual reality company Leap Motion is all about petting cats and getting to know them intimately. A little too intimately, in fact.
The interface, which relies on hand-and-finger movements that exploit augmented reality controls and VR, lets you explore a cat’s nervous system, organs and even skeleton.
Viewers have diverse responses to the video. One of them wrote, “I mean, this is great for what it’s trying to accomplish, it’s just a shame I’ll never be able to go to sleep again.” Another echoed the sentiment. “This turned from cute to creeper really quick,” he wrote. A third, however, tried to look at the bright side of things: “Well the cat looks like it doesn’t care, so it’s realistic.”
