Amazon Prime Video is releasing its first Telugu original web series, Gang Stars, on June 1. The press release called the series a “fast-paced thriller” with “overtones of comedy” featuring “upbeat music”. The series revolves around a disparate group of characters who are brought together by an unforeseen chain of events.

Telugu star Jagapathi Babu plays a gangster diagnosed with cancer. Swetha Basu Prasad plays a haughty actress while Navdeep plays an actor. Sidhu Jonnalagadda is a struggling filmmaker and Apoorva Arora, a new film producer. The series has been produced by Silly Monks Entertainment and Early Monsoon Tales, the web division of Mahanti producer Vyjayanthi Movies.
