Amazon Studios has renewed the web series The Marvelous Mrs Maisel for a third season, reported Variety. Starring Rachel Brosnahan and Michael Zegen, the show’s second season is yet to be aired on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video.
The series revolves around a Jewish housewife (Rachel Brosnahan) in 1950s America who wants to become a stand-up comedian.
On Saturday, Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator-executive producer of the show, asked Amazon executives about a third season for the show as she accepted a Peabody Award for the series. “You’re going to give it to us because we’re bringing home the fancy thing, right?” she asked. Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke confirmed to Variety that The Marvelous Mrs Maisel would get a third season.
In January, the series won two Golden Globes – the best Musical/Comedy award, and the best actress award in the same category that went to Rachel Brosnahan.
