Actor Meghan Markle will marry Prince Harry, sixth in line to the British throne, on Saturday. The two are getting married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle at noon local time (4.30 pm in India). The wedding will be televised, but their reception in the evening will not be.
Harry’s brother William, the duke of Windsor, is his best man, and his two elder children Charlotte and George will be among six young bridesmaids and four page boys. Around 600 guests have been invited to the wedding, and 200 to the reception. More than 2,000 members of the public have been invited to watch the arrival and departure of the carriage procession at Windsor Castle. They were told to bring their own picnic lunch.
Harry and Markle met on a blind date in 2016 and were soon featured in the tabloids in the following months. They announced their engagement in September.
Their wedding has been the source of much speculation and gossip, more so this week, since Markle’s father said he could not attend. Prince Charles, Harry’s father, will accompany Markle for part of her walk down the aisle. She will, however, complete the walk alone, a first for a royal bride in Britain, according to CNN.
