Delhi Police officials on Friday questioned Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal about the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash in February, NDTV reported.
“We questioned the Delhi chief minister for three hours,” Harinder Singh, the additional deputy commissioner of police, told ANI. “He has been cooperative, but he evaded some questions.”
Prakash has alleged that Aam Aadmi Party MLAs Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan had assaulted him at the chief minister’s residence on February 19. The police have already questioned 11 AAP legislators who were present when the alleged incident took place. Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also present.
On Wednesday, the police asked Kejriwal to join the investigation. Kejriwal agreed, but wanted the police to question him at 5 pm and not 11 am, The Hindu reported. The following day the police rejected the chief minister’s request to video record the questioning.
“We are not going to allow Kejriwal to video record the questioning,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Harendra Singh said. “He is not legally entitled to it. The questioning will be video recorded by the police but we are not going to provide him any copy of the video.”
