Improbable stunts, impassioned fights and large weapons abound in the new trailer of Mission: Impossible Fallout, released on Wednesday. The first trailer was released during the Super Bowl championship in February.
The upcoming film is the sixth in the Mission Impossible franchise, which began in 1996. Based on the television series of the same name, the films revolve around the adventures of Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), an agent of the fictional Impossible Missions Force.
In Mission Impossible: Fallout, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Hunt’s loyalty is being questioned by the Central Intelligence Agency and he’s being chased by assassins and former allies while he scrambles to complete his mission. “The end you’ve always feared is coming,” Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) tells him in the new trailer. “It’s coming and the blood will be on your hands.”
The cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Michelle Monaghan, and Alec Baldwin reprising their roles from previous films. Henry Cavill and Wes Bentley join the franchise. Mission Impossible: Fallout will be released on July 27.
