In a tournament filled with upsets, India’s Aditya Jagtap aptly clinched the CityView Open title by beating fifth seed Alister Walker 11-8, 11-5, 11-6. This was Aditya first Professional Squash Association (PSA) title.
It, however, wasn’t the only upset he caused in the tournament.
In the semi-finals, he beat the 8th seed Hugo Varela 11-9, 4-11, 11-2, 11-2 and before that he accounted for 6th seed Spencer Lovejoy in a tough match, winning 12-10, 8-11, 11-6, 5-11, 11-6.
The biggest upset, though, was the one he caused in the first round. He beat the third seed Ahmed Hosny of Egypt in a 47-minute encounter 11-9, 4-11, 12-10, 11-9.
Jagtap’s current PSA world ranking in 206.
