There’s no stopping Boston Dynamics robots. Not only are they inching ever closer to humans in terms of physical capabilities, but now they are also able to negotiate obstructions while navigating.
Still, what seems simple for humans can be an enormous accomplishment for a robot. The video above, titled Getting some air, Atlas? shows Atlas, a humanoid robot, making slightly heavy weather of dealing with an obstacle.
Boston Dynamics explains how it works: “We use sensor-based controls and computation to unlock the capabilities of complex mechanisms.”
