Over 40 cricket coaches – 20 women and 23 men – in India have not yet received the results for a re-certification exam they took last year because BCCI has delayed its payment to Cricket Australia, The Indian Express reported on Wednesday.
The re-certification course, conducted in two batches in March-April last year, for BCCI-accredited coaches was part of the several exchange programmes between the Indian and the Australian cricket boards. CA had deputed their faculty to conduct the Level 2 coaching courses.
BCCI, according to the report, is unaware about the payment delay as there is no Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two boards. It was under late General Manager (cricket operations) MV Sridhar that the board had got in touch with CA regarding the programme.
The programme, which focused on the approach and methodology in coaching, was conducted by Jeff Thompson, Mark Cameron, Jonothan Connar, Lindsay Flinn and John Hayes along with WV Raman (Head Coach Batting, NCA) and Narendra Hirwani (Head Coach, Spin Bowling, NCA).
The coaches who attended the course, the report said, aren’t aware about the delay either.
