The trailer of Marathi film Farzand brims with pride for the warrior king Shivaji and includes several references to Maratha valour.
Farzand tells the story of how Maratha warriors led by Kondaji Farzand (played by Ankit Mohan) helped Shivaji (Chinmay Mandlekar) regain control of the Panhala Fort in Maharashtra in 1673. The Maratha king had been ousted from the fort by Adil Shah in 1600.
Farzand also stars Mrinal Kulkarni, Prasad Oak, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Neha Joshi, Sameer Dharmadhikari, and Nikhil Raut. Produced by Anirban Sarkar, the historical drama marks Digpal Lanjekar’s directorial debut and will be released on June 1.
