The Income Tax Department on Tuesday conducted raids at a resort in Bagalkot district’s Badami town in Karnataka, ANI reported. Badami is one of the two constituencies from which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is contesting in the Assembly elections due on Saturday.
The raid at Krishna Heritage Resort in Badami started at 11 pm on Monday, and was carried out till Tuesday morning, The New Indian Express reported. Some Congress leaders, who have been campaigning, were staying at the resort, reports said.
Income Tax officials said the resort is linked to mining baron Anand Singh, who is the Congress’ candidate from Ballari.
