Bharatiya Janata Party’s Karnataka chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa on Saturday asked party supporters in Belagavi district’s Kittur constituency to plead with people who have decided against voting to come out and cast their ballots in favour of the party’s candidate.
Yeddyurappa made the statement while addressing a campaign rally in Belagavi district on Saturday. Karnataka Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on May 12 and votes will be counted on May 15. Mahantesh Doddagoudar is the party’s candidate in Kittur.
The chief ministerial hopeful on Saturday addressed rallies in Kittur and Byndoor constituencies. “The party will come to power with a huge majority,” he said on Twitter. “The efforts of our workers to convey the truth to the people are commendable.”
During a rally in Shivamogga district in Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took on the ruling Congress for allegdly using foul language against Yeddyurappa. “The kind of language they are using...baseless allegations they are making ignoring his age and commitment to the society,” Modi said. “All kinds of rubbish language is being used...I want to tell the people of Shivamogga to ensure that Congress candidates lose their deposit, Yeddyurappa’s insult is avenged.”
