A man in Rajasthan’s Kota city allegedly kidnapped a schoolgirl he had befriended on Facebook and raped her for four days, PTI reported on Monday. He was produced at a fast-track court on Monday along with his accomplice. The two were sent to judicial custody till May 15.
Pankaj Dhobi, a 22-year-old undergraduate student, used to talk to the 16-year-old girl on the phone, said RK Puram police station Sub-inspector Pratap Rao. Dhobi met her on April 24 when she was on her way to school, and offered her a ride on his scooter. He reportedly took her around the city and later to a room that his friend Dinesh Lodha had arranged.
The girl managed to escape and went home on Saturday night, The Times of India reported. She told her parents, who lodged the police complaint the next day. The girl was medically examined and produced before the Child Welfare Committee, which ordered that she be sent to a shelter till a magistrate records her statement, Rao said.
