The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), also known as the UP Board, has declared the results of 2018 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or 12th exam and Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) or 10th today, April 29th. Students can check the result at upresults.nic.in and upmspresults.up.nic.in.
Rajneesh Shukla from Fatehpur and Akash Maurya from Barbanki scored 93.2% to top the class 12th exam. Abhishek Kumar from Moradabad and Ajeet Patel from Barabanki bagged second and third ranks, respectively.
Anjali Shukla bagged the first rank in class 10th by scoring 96.33%. Yashashvi from Fatehpur was ranked second with a score of 94.5%.
The pass percentage for class 12th is 72.43% and for 10th is 75.16%. Girls outperformed boys in both the exams with girls passing percentage for 12th being 78.8% and for boys 72.2%. For 10th class, 78.8% girls cleared the exam and 72.3% of boys. In 2017, the pass percentage for class 10th was 81.60% and pass percentage for 12th was 82.5%.
Around 67 lakh students had enrolled for the exams this year of which around 37 lakh were for Class 10th and 30 lakh for Class 12.
How to check for the UP board Class 10th and 12th results
- Visit The UP board’s official website (www.upresults.nic.in).
- Click on the appropriate link (for either Class 10 or Class 12).
- Enter your roll number or any other details asked for.
- Click on the submit button. Your result will be displayed.
- You can download it and print it out.
The UP Class 10 and Class 12 board exams for 2018 were conducted under tight security between February 6th and March 10th. The security arrangement made a lot of news as over 10 lakh students had skipped partaking in the examination.
Scroll.in had done a series which covered the systemic exam mafia which had been functioning in the state to aid in cheating and other malpractices. The series said though the cheating cases had decreased but the government is not addressing the systemic causes. Some teachers even felt that in some cases government itself is responsible for aiding in cheating in a mass scale.
