A civilian died after suspected militants opened fire at Central Reserve Police Force personnel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday, Rising Kashmir reported. A jawan was injured in the incident.

The suspected militants opened fire when security forces signalled the car they were in to stop so that it could be searched, PTI quoted an unidentified police officer as saying. The civilian was identified as Shafiq Shabir Shah, a resident of Shopian district’s Khargund area.

Meanwhile, Director General of Police SP Vaid on Thursday confirmed that Jaish-e-Muhammad operation commander Mufti Yasir was among the four suspected militants killed in a gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
