Amy Adams will star in the movie adaptation of AJ Finn’s best-selling 2018 novel The Woman in the Window, the author announced on Twitter on Thursday. The Fox 2000 production is being directed by Joe Wright (Darkest Hour) with a screenplay by Tracy Letts.
A Woman in the Window tells the story of psychologist Anna Fox, who spends much of her time holed up in her apartment, drinking alcohol and spying on her neighbours when she chances upon something she should never have seen. The book debuted No. 1 on the New York Times Bestsellers’ List.
Adams is also playing the lead role in Sharp Objects, an HBO mini-series based on a book of the same name by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn. The show will be premiered in July.
