A seven-year-old girl died and 17 children were injured when a milk tanker hit their school van in North Delhi on Thursday morning, ANI reported.
The incident took place near the Kanhaiya Nagar metro station in Keshavpuram in north west Delhi. The police have detained the drivers of both the vehicles, according to PTI. They also received minor injuries, The Indian Express reported.
The children were taken to different hospitals. Four of them are in a critical condition, the police said.
Eighteen children of two schools, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Number One School, were in the van at the time of the incident. They are between seven and 15 years of age.
In another incident on Thursday morning, 13 children were killed and eight were injured when their school bus collided with a train in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district.
