Important dates for applying to posts for State Bank of India (SBI) PO (probationary officers) have been revealed in a notification (released on April 21st). The important dates include those for the SBI PO Prelim exam and SBI PO Main exam, as well as tentative dates for results of the same.
According to the notification for recruitment of 2,118 bank probationary officers, applicatoins are now being accepted and the last date to apply for SBI’s POI positions is May 13th, 2018. Eligibility for SBI PO positions
Candidates must have obtained a graduate degree in any stream. The age range for eligible candidates is between 21 and 30 years (but there is a slight relaxation for reserved categories).
SBI PO selection rounds
The PO exam selection process will be conducted in three phases. The Preliminary Exam (Phase 1) consists of an objective-type exam, which will test for English language, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning ability. The SBI PO Prelim exam is a 1-hour paper of 100 marks.
The SBI PO Main exam (Phase 2) includes both objective and descriptive exams. The objective exam tests for reasoning and computer aptitude, data analysis and interpretation, general economy and banking awareness, and English language, while the descriptive exam will consist of two questions to test English language comprehension. The objective exam will be of 200 marks and the descriptive exam of 50 marks.
Phase 3 will comprise of a Group Discussion session and an Interview. This phase carries 30 marks. However, the final selection will be made based on how a candidate performs in Phase 2 and Phase 3.
How to apply for SBI Bank PO 2018 exam
- Log on to official SBI Careers website (sbi.co.in/careers).
- Under ‘Current Openings’, click on the appropriate online application form.
- Fill in the required information, upload your scanned signature and photograph, and submit the application.
- This will generate a ‘Registration number’ and ‘password’.
- You will have to make the required payment online.
- An e-receipt and application form will be generated, which you can print out for your own record.
