With the release of the UPSC CAPF notification, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has notified about the 2018 exam for Assistant Commandants (ACs) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Candidates can now apply by logging on to the official UPSC website (upsconline.nic.in), and applications are open until 6pm on May 21st, 2018.

Candidates’ e-Admission Certificates will be issued three weeks before the exam process begins, and they will be made available for download on the official UPSC website. The UPSC CAPF written exam is scheduled for August 12th, 2018.

Vacancies for UPSC CAPF 2018 exam

The UPSC CAPF written exam if for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). There are 398 vacancies to be filled in departments which include the Border Security Force (BSF), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Central Industrial Security Force(CISF), the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). UPSC CAPF 2018 exam paper details

Keep these points in mind regarding the UPSC CAPF 2018 exam for Assistant Commandant posts.

  • In the objective-type paper, there will be negative marking for wrong answers.
  • For both writing and marking answers in the OMR Sheets (Answer Sheet), only black ball point pen is allowed.
  • The written exam will comprise of two papers. Paper I is a two-hour exam, while Paper II is a three-hour exam.
  • Paper I is an objective-type paper of 250 marks for General Ability and Intelligence.
  • Paper II is a written exam of 200 marks and will be on General Studies, Essay and Comprehension.

Candidates who qualify in the UPSC CAPF written exam will be called for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. Those who pass these tests will be called for an Interview/Personality test, which carries 150 marks.

The 2017 UPSC CAPF exam for Assistant Commandants was held on July 23rd, 2017, and the UPSC only recently released the interview schedule for those qualified candidates. The 2017 UPSC CAPF interviews are scheduled to be held from May 7th to May 17th, 2018 at the UPSC office in New Delhi.
