Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Billy Stanlake has been ruled out from the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League season due to a finger injury, the team management informed on Tuesday.
According to a release sent by the franchise, Indian and Australian orthopaedic specialists have advised Stanlake to not play the remainder of the tournament owing to the injury that he sustained in the match against Chennai Super Kings played in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Stanlake sustained a displaced fracture on the fifth finger of his right hand while fielding. A surgical reduction and fixation was required to restore function to that finger, the release added.
The Australian fast bowler has flown back to his country for further treatment.
