The first teaser for the HBO mini-series based on Gillian Flynn’s novel Sharp Objects marries a murder mystery with a ghost story. The eight-episode series, based on Flynn’s debut novel from 2006, has been directed by Jean-Marc Vallee (Big Little Lies).
Amy Adams plays Camille Preaker, an emotionally disturbed reporter who is investigating a pair of murders in her hometown that remind her of her relationship with her dead sister. Patricia Clarkson plays Camille’s mother. The cast includes Elizabeth Perkins, Madison Davenport and Chris Messina. The mini-series will be premiered in July.
