There are three kinds of viewers for stand-up comics, according to Kenny Sebastian, at least. There is the positive kind, the absolutely negative kind who just hate the comedy, and the third kind who, among other things, suggests that comedians use their fan following to talk about real issues.
But Sebastian isn’t doing any of that talking, and in the 12-minute comedy routine in the video above, he explains the reasons for his self-censorship. To sum it up, “because I’m not insane”.
“Why don’t I do jokes on politics? Because our government is super chill,” Sebastian adds. “...Because I’m scared. That’s why. It’s not like I can’t get punchlines on political jokes.”
