Two Army personnel were killed and four injured after their vehicle fell into the Kundil river in Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday morning. One soldier is missing.
The deceased soldiers were identified as Lance Naik Parsuram K and Sepoy B Amarnath, The Telegraph reported.
“The incident took place around 3 am. The Army unit comprising 18 personnel were en route for a counter insurgency operation near the Assam-Arunachal border when their vehicle skidded off a bridge at Kabung village,” Lower Dibang Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Sain told News18.
Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom said the area was prone to landslides, according to PTI. The district administration, the police, Army personnel and the National Disaster Response Force carried out the rescue operations.
