A middle-aged man nods his head gently as an ageing businessman talks incessantly about his problems in a bustling restaurant. The next minute, he devotes his full attention to a woman telling him about her adventurous day. In an attention-seeking world, Mishra’s character seems to be the only one willing to take the backseat as others speak. That is, after all, his job.
Tarun Dudeja’s delightful 13-minute film Listener tells the story of a man (Kumud Mishra) who is paid to lend a ear to people – their frustrations, joys or sorrows. The film also features Shashank Arora, Yusuf Hussain and Shivani Tanksale.
Listener is available for viewing on the YouTube channel of Large Short Films.
