Veteran journalist TVR Shenoy died on Tuesday in a Mangaluru hospital. He was 77 and had been suffering from several health problems. He will be cremated in New Delhi on Wednesday, reported The Week, a magazine he once edited.
During his career, Shenoy worked with The Indian Express, Free Press Journal, Malayala Manorama and Sunday Mail. He was the first bureau chief of The Week after the magazine’s launch in 1982, before becoming its editor.
He later contributed several columns to leading publications, writing about politics, the economy, social issues and international affairs. Shenoy was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2003.
Several prominent journalists tweeted their condolences after his death.
