The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday suspended internet services in the districts of Samba, Kathua and Jammu after incidents of stone pelting were reported from Sarore, Greater Kashmir reported.
The village is in Vijaypur constituency, which is represented by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Chander Prakash Ganga. Ganga and a BJP colleague had resigned from the state Cabinet on Friday after their participation in a rally in support of an accused in the Kathua rape and murder case had sparked outrage.
Authorities suspended internet services to prevent the spread of rumours that would affect law and order in the state, Greater Kashmir reported, quoting an unidentified official.
More details awaited.
