A man allegedly kidnapped, confined and raped a 19-year-old woman in his house for 10 days in Delhi’s Aman Vihar area, the police said on Saturday. The woman, who managed to flee on April 9, filed a first information report against Kuldeep at Aman Vihar police station the same day.
Kuldeep is absconding, and the police are questioning his family members, reported the Hindustan Times. Two teams have been formed to track him down.
The woman told the police that the accused lived close to her house in Sultanpuri and she knew him for over a year. She has also alleged that Kuldeep had been stalking her for a few months. “On March 30, the two met and he took her to his room on the first floor of his residence,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police MN Tiwari, according to The Hindu. “He beat her up and raped her. He then confined her to the room and raped her repeatedly for 10 days.”
Tiwari said the woman’s family did not lodge a missing complaint all this while. “It is surprising that the woman’s family had not filed her missing or kidnapping complaint even as she was missing for 10 days,” he said, according to the Hindustan Times. “We are looking into this angle as well.”
