An 18-year-old woman from Gujarat’s Uchhal taluka has accused a 29-year-old man from her village of abducting her and raping her over two weeks, The Indian Express reported.
The woman told the police she was abducted when she was on her way home from a neighbouring village. She said the man forced her into an auto rickshaw and took her to Surat, where he locked her inside a room.
Her parents reported her missing on March 26. On Wednesday, the accused reportedly dropped her back to the village and threatened her not to talk of the attack, the police said.
“We have registered a case on the basis of woman’s statement and are looking for the accused,” sub inspector NV Tadvi told the daily. The police said the man was married and has three children.
