At least six people were killed in a blast from explosives placed on a vehicle in Afghanistan’s Herat province on Monday, Reuters reported, quoting government officials. The explosion took place near a mosque in Shindand district.
The deceased included four children. Nine people were wounded.
On March 25, one person was killed and seven injured after two suicide bombers detonated explosives near a mosque in Herat. The Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack followed a car bomb explosion in Afghanistan’s Lashkargah city on March 23, that killed at least 15 people and wounded 50.
