The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday said Congress President Rahul Gandhi should not worry about Narendra Modi’s prospects in the 2019 General Elections and should, instead, be concerned about losing his own constituency, PTI reported.
At a campaign rally in Bengaluru on Sunday, Gandhi had said Modi could lose his Varanasi seat in the Lok Sabha elections if faced with a united Opposition. He had said that the the BJP-led ruling alliance at the Centre will see a “collapse not seen in many years” if Opposition parties came together.
In response, BJP Spokesperson Anil Baluni said Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi should worry about losing Amethi and Raebareli because of people’s disappointment with the Congress. “They have done nothing in their constituencies, and the people’s disappointment with them is growing,” he said.
