Unidentified gunmen shot at a journalist at his house in Ghaziabad on Sunday. Anuj Chaudhary, who works with Hindi news channel Sahara Samay, was taken to hospital in a critical condition. He is believed to be stable now, according to NDTV.
The police said personal enmity was found to be the motive behind the shooting but they are investigating other angles, as well.
The news comes weeks after journalist Sandeep Sharma, who was investigating illegal sand mining cases in Madhya Pradesh, was killed after being run over by a truck in Bhind district. The driver was arrested, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had ordered an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
