Nine agricultural workers were killed and several people were injured after a tractor overturned and fell into a canal near Waddipatla village in Telangana’s Nalgonda district on Friday, The Hindu reported.
There were 30 farm workers in the tractor at the time of the accident. They were travelling from Padamati hamlet to Pulicherla for work when the driver lost control and plunged into the canal, The Deccan Herald reported.
Villagers rushed to the spot and helped pull out the survivors. Rescue efforts are on. The toll is expected to rise, said the police.
