Suspected militants attacked a special police officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday in Anantnag district’s Khanabal locality. He was critically injured in the attack at Khanabal Chowk, according to Greater Kashmir.
The officer, identified as Trilok Singh, is being treated at a hospital in Srinagar, The Indian Express reported. Security personnel have cordoned off the area.
This attack comes just two days after a special police officer was shot dead in his home in Anantnag. Suspected militants had attacked Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, who died on the spot, and his wife Fareeda is in critical condition in hospital.
“Her lower limbs are paralysed due to a spine injury,” a doctor treating her at a Srinagar hospital told Greater Kashmir.
The suspected militant who shot the two – 20-year-old Asif Ashraf Malik – was admitted to the same hospital after government forces shot at him in Shopian on Friday.
