The Kerala Police on Thursday arrested three people for allegedly assaulting the driver of a Kozhikode-bound state transport corporation bus after he reportedly overtook a car in a dangerous manner near Mundur in Palakkad district, The Hindu reported.
The three men – identified as Dileep, Dipesh, and Anil Kumar – accused M Aboobacker of hitting their car. They stopped the bus at Olavakkode and attacked Aboobacker. They continued to hit him even as he started bleeding and went down on the floor of the bus. The bus conductor and other passengers tried to intervene to control the situation.
Aboobacker was admitted to the taluk hospital in Mannarkkad after he started vomiting blood. He was later shifted to the government medical college hospital in Manjeri.
The state transport corporation’s managing director, A Hemachandran, asked the the superintendent of police to take stern action against the accused, Matrubhumi reported.
