Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in a notification released on Wednesday informed that it has detected 40 cases of malpractice during the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) 2017 examination. The Commission conducted the examination from March 4th till March 28th and more than 26 lakh candidates appeared for the examination.
The Commission informed that these 40 cases of malpractice/impersonation are spread across various venues and police complaints have been registered against the ‘delinquent’ candidates.
The Commission has also taken note of the busting of a cheating case on Tuesday by Delhi Police and Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force in which the accused were helping candidates to cheat via screen sharing software.
“The Commission has asked for specific information regarding assistance given by these gangs to any candidate who appeared in CHSLE (Tier-I), 2017 or any other examination conducted by the Commission,” said the notification.
SSC has been dealing with allegations of malpractices and paper leaks for its Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2017 examinations. CBI has started a preliminary enquiry into the case.
