Trans-Tasman rivals Australia and New Zealand enjoy their banter. Both countries enjoy their sport. While Australians have largely been the most dominant force in cricket over the last 20 years, New Zealand’s rugby team, with two consecutive World Cup wins to boot, have become all-powerful entity.
With Australian cricket in the doldrums following the ball-tampering scandal that came to light against South Africa at Cape Town, Twitter went on an overdrive, calling for coach Darren Lehmann and Steve Smith’s head.
Air New Zealand also joined the party. They were quick to remind their rivals of Kane Williamson and Co’s crushing injnings win over England at Auckland before taking digs at Smith and his teammates. Swing bowling was undoubedtly the theme and so was the (legal) execution of the art.
