Nearly 50 students of Dr HS Gour Central University in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar city on Sunday alleged that the caretaker at their hostel had body searched them after a used sanitary napkin was found in the corridor, News18 reported.
The women approached Vice Chancellor RP Tiwari complaining that at the behest of the hostel warden, the caretaker conducted the search to find out which student was on her period, the Hindustan Times reported.
Tiwari said a committee has been formed to look into the complaint and a report regarding the same will be submitted within three days. Tiwari said action will be taken against the warden if they are found guilty.
“It is unfortunate and condemnable,” he told ANI. “I told the students that they are all like my daughters and I apologise to them.”
