The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations will prepare the final exam question papers for core subjects for Class 9 and 11 students starting this academic year, PTI reported. Until now, schools under the council’s purview had the prerogative to prepare the question papers.
The council aims to ensure “uniformity among its affiliated schools across India and abroad with regard to the syllabus to be completed at Class 9 and 11 levels”, the council’s chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon told PTI. “This will help to streamline and strengthen the examination system further.”
The council said the initiative would help synchronise the syllabus with the examination system.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations conducts three examinations – the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education, the Indian School Certificate, and the Certificate in Vocational Education.
