Ireland-based artist and photographer Páraic McGloughlin has tried to imagine a pattern of human existence by taking a bird’s eye view of the earth. He created an animation (video above) based on “the shapes we make, the game of life, our playing ground” by using Google Earth satellite images and putting them together with wild creativity and imagination.

Arena is a rollercoaster of sorts, a kaleidoscopic look at the ever-changing patterns created by humans that encapsulates, in some way, the wonderfully unorchestrated chaos of human existence.

To create the stop-motion movement in the fast-paced video, McGloughlin apparently had to hand-pick each frame from Google Earth. “It was quite a monotonous process of searching for specific images,” he told PetaPixel. “The animation itself was relatively easy, but the searching took time!”
