Sahaj Grover on Sunday beat Malawi’s Joseph Mwale to clinch the 2018 Broadwalk Pearson Open title.
The top-seeded Indian beat Mwale in 63 moves to take his points tally to 7.5. Grover, after drawing the first two rounds, won six of the remaining seven rounds including the last four.
This is Grover’s second title in the classical format within a year. The former World junior bronze medallist, won the South African Open title in Durban, besides beating the fields, in rapid and blitz formats, last July.
