Science and Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday conferred the Homi J Bhabha Memorial Award on Defence Research and Development Organisation scientist Prakash Chand Jain. The award was presented at the 105th Indian Science Congress in recognition of Jain’s scientific contributions, particularly in the field of aerospace engineering.
“I feel overwhelmed and humbled on recognition of my contributions at the highest level towards advancement of science and technology,” Jain said on receiving the award. “This award is expectations put forth by the peers for me to deliver back to society. This award further adds to my sense of responsibility and commitment to the nation.”
A press release by the Indian Science Congress Association said Jain is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He has been a fellow from the George Washington University in the United States and was elected Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2018.
