How many thousands of tourism videos have we all watched while planning our next holiday? The US state of Oregon clearly knows this, which is why it didn’t make the usual montage of breathtaking sights in its new promotional video to entice tourists.
Instead, it handed the task over to the legendary Studio Ghibli of Japan, whose founder Hayao Miyazaki must have been a source of inspiration behind the dream-like world created through the lush visuals. According to the video, which is “only slightly exaggerated”, you can go to Oregon expecting frogs that read newspapers, giant rideable rabbits in fields of tulips, extra-large millipedes riding milli-cycles, cloud wizards with magical rain and flying humpback whales.
The video is all kinds of magical, but the locations are real.
