The makers of Irrfan Khan’s upcoming black comedy Blackmail have clarified that the movie will be released as scheduled on April 6, reported The Hindustan Times. The actor recently announced on Twitter that he was diagnosed with a rare disease and needed time to come to terms with his ailment.
Quashing rumours over a possible delay in the film’s release due to Khan’s illness, director Abhinay Deo (Delhi Belly) said that the actor has ensured that the release date will not be pushed. “When I met Irrfan recently, he said please ensure that ‘Blackmail’ has a great release, emphasising that his film’s release date should not suffer owing to his ill health at this time,” Deo said in a statement. “We will ensure Blackmail has a great release.”
Also starring Kirti Kulhari, Divya Dutta, Arunoday Singh and Omi Vaidya, the movie is about Dev (Khan), who gets involved in a murky blackmail game with his wife (Kulhari) and her lover (Singh).
