India Grandmaster B Adhiban remained in joint-lead after round seven even as compatriot Nihal Sarin lost a half a point fall back into shared-second position at the Reykjavik Open.
Playing with black pieces, Adhiban defeated French Grandmaster Maxime Lagarde to stay level with Richard Rapport on top of the standings.
Sarin, though, was held to a draw by Grandmaster Mustafa Yilmaz of Turkey. Sarin shares the second spot with fell Indian Vaibhav Suri who beat Gabriel Bick while playing with white pieces.
Adhiban has six points after seven rounds, while Sarin and Suri are half a point behind with 5.5 points.
