Shoojit Sircar’s new movie October, written by his frequent collaborator Juhi Chaturvedi (Vicky Donor, Piku), is billed as an anti-romance. Call it love through palliative care. Varun Dhawan plays Dan, who works at the same five-star hotel as Shiuli (newcomer Banita Sandhu). She seems to yearn for him, but he appears too busy to notice. An accident leaves Shiuli bed-ridden, and her plaintive question “Where is Dan” forces the young man to sit by her hospital bed and begin worrying for a woman he barely knows.
Also starring acclaimed animator Gitanjali Rao as Shiuli’s mother, the movie will be released on April 13.
