The United States on Friday announced a $5-million (approximately Rs 32.5-crore) reward for information on Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Mullah Fazlullah, AP reported. His outfit is responsible for several terror attacks, including the one on a Peshawar school in December 2014 and for shooting schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai in 2012.
The US described Fazlullah’s outfit as a terrorist organisation based in the tribal areas of eastern Afghanistan. Fazlullah was not present at a militant hideout that was the target of a US drone strike in Afghanistan on Wednesday. His son and 19 others were killed in the drone strike.
The US State Department also announced a $3-million (approximately Rs 19.5-crore) reward each for information on Abdul Wali of Jamaat ul-Ahrar and Mangal Bagh, the leader of Lashkar-e-Islam. Both are Pakistan-based terrorist organisations.
